Coaching is where my analysis meets reality. If I cannot turn an insight into something a player understands and can repeat, the insight does not count for much. Coaching tests that for me constantly. It is the reason my reports are built around teachable moments rather than observations, because I spend my weeks turning observations into sessions myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is also what underpins how I read the game. I do not see football as a set of numbers or a finished tactical picture. I see it as a series of behaviours that can be taught, corrected, and improved, because that is the work I do every week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am immersed in junior youth coaching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Right now my coaching is with junior youth players, and I enjoy the challenge of it. There is real reward in watching kids grow across a season and develop into genuinely talented players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is also the hardest test of clarity I know. Young players give you nowhere to hide. If I cannot explain a footballing concept simply enough for them to grasp it and use it on the pitch, then I have not explained it well enough. That discipline carries straight back into the work I produce for older players and coaching staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where I add value<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
I hold a Masters degree in Leadership, and I am working my way through my AFC C License. My aim with these is not to become a first-class manager. It is to make the best contribution I can to a team’s setup. I know where my value sits, in the detail, in the analysis, and in the work of making both usable, and I want to play that role as well as it can be played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
