I am a PFSA Level 2 accredited talent identification and opposition analyst, working within professional football in Australia and Europe. I hold dual British and Australian citizenship. My work combines structured talent identification, video-based opposition analysis, and contextual performance data, and it is built to do one thing. It helps technical staff make better and lower-risk decisions about players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What sets the work apart is the combination behind it. I am a scout, an analyst, and a coach, and I bring the rigour of a researcher to all three. Each one sharpens the others. The analysis is better because I coach. The scouting is more reliable because I hold it to a research standard. And everything I produce is built to be used, not just read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I work across two connected areas. The first is talent identification, where I produce structured player dossiers that assess tactical role fit, behavioural indicators, league translation factors, and recruitment risk. The second is opposition analysis, where I break down build-up structure, pressing triggers, transitional dynamics, and set piece play, and turn it into something a coaching team can take straight into a session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Underneath both is a focus on role fit, behavioural profiling, and recruitment risk. I am not here to tell a club that a player is good. I am here to tell them whether a player is right for them, and what it would cost to be wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where I have worked<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My experience spans professional environments in Australia and Europe. I currently provide remote video analysis for a club in the Romanian second tier, covering defensive tactics, set pieces, and opposition reports. I have delivered freelance talent identification and opposition analysis within professional football under strict confidentiality agreements, contributing to both first-team and pathway-level assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have scouted recruitment and Bosman targets for a professional A-League club, contextualising performance by tactical role, league strength, and usage to separate genuine upside from risk. I have also captured and validated live match data at professional level, which keeps my analysis grounded in how data is actually gathered and where it can mislead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have scouted four imports who went on to sign in the A-League, and I had each of them on clubs’ radars at least six months before they made the move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How I work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I bring the discipline of research to the work. I let the evidence lead, I test what I see rather than chasing a conclusion, and I work within clear reporting frameworks so that everything I produce is consistent, comparable, and genuinely useful to the people making decisions. My doctoral research into talent and skill development across regional, remote and rural Australia is where that rigour comes from.<\/p>\n\n\n

Most analysis is written by people who never have to deliver it. Mine is not. In the same week that I am profiling a player or breaking down an opponent, I am on a training pitch trying to get an idea across to a group of kids. That keeps me close to the difference between a clever observation and a useful one, and it is the useful one that earns a place in your report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This work also runs on trust, so I treat confidentiality as a given rather than a clause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
